Hi have imported dated from access to an excell spread sheet for mail merge to word document. All merged ok and looked fine on screen.

When printed the letter L has appeared after every letter between the first and last name.

Spread sheet is split into columns with Title, first Name, Surname, Address, Post (zip) code

can you help me get rid of this error

Has it appeared on it's own separate line, or appended to an existing one?

Are all the columns visible on your spreadsheet?

Make sure all column widths are fully expanded to the width of the contents.

Can you see this 'L' on Print Preview?

Hi there

the L does not appear in print preview. I will run a small sample again with all lines expanded.

The l appears on the same line as the persons name i.e

Mr Adam Smith is on the print preview

Mr Adaml Smith appears on the actual print

I have a feeling that's some sort of character that's been appended to the forename when it was imported into Excel.

Go to an empty column.

In this column , type in =right(A1,1)

Substitute A1 for whatever cell contains your forename

What do you get? It'll either be the 'l' you're seeing, or the actual last letter.
