Hi,

My friend has encountered a problem in that his computer will boot into windows; but his hard drive is not visible, nor does he have any options available within his start menu. System says he has a virus, but McAfee says he hasn't.

On boot, F8 won't let him access safe mode, or any other options. He can access internet, etc, from icons on his desktop, but that's it. He can't even generate a 'Hijack This' log.

Any suggestions? Clearly, a clean install may be called for, but any other suggestions before this would be welcomed.
