Well, if you haven't installed any program which changes the hosts file or you haven't added listings to the hosts file..
Follow my latest instructions.
Here they are again, please do this and post a fresh log;
download the "Host file viewer" here;
http://members.acces...sFileReader.zip
and select the option to restore to default settings.
If you have problems; instructions are on the display screen of the program.
When you have downloaded the program, just open it up and click "Restore to default settings".
After that, do a rescan with Ad-aware SE, and post the scanlog here.
Shouldn't be difficult?
Please ask if you have questions.

It seems to be working at an ok rate: normally my connection varies. Somedays it is super fast, sometimes not: it is a tiny little bit "hesitent" at times today. But that could just be the general connection.

I have a black screen.

I have the yellow triangle at the bottom right, trying to get me to buy anti-virus stuff.

thanks for your help, i'll wait for you to get back to me. I'm goin in about 20 mins and won't be online till tomorrow morning.

cheers

Could you try Trend Micro too?
Post the log here.
But, before that, do what Andy suggested.
Or did you do everything already?
If so, post the new log here..

My computer struggles to load that one up. A box pops up saying
"Trend ActiveUpdate did not update succesfully.
Error Code: 28
Error String: Generic Source network failure"

Is there another one that you advise upon?

Also, another big issue, does anyone know how i can get my desktop background back? At the moment it is black...

Cheers

To keep your computer safe
-Make sure you have all critical updates installed.
-To make sure that you have got a firewall running when your connected to the internet and Anti-virus software which has the latest updates.

Two great sites to check for good advice and top rated software are http://members.acces...ntomPhixer.html and http://www.spywareai...p?file=toprated
