I booted into Safe mode and then tried housecall.trendmicro.com and it started a scan session, but in the middle the connection was disconnected and when I tried to go back to trendmicro.com, the virus blocked me.
So, I tried to use the system restore option, but after I selected my restore point and clicked next, nothing happened, that is, the system restore did not seem to work.
I was able to download TrendMicro and install and run it in safe mode and it found the "ImyOnBar" virus and said it cleaned it, but on reboot, I was still having trouble accessing sites.
I download "a squared" software and ran it, it found the Ionmybar and said that it had cleaned it. But I still had trouble with the virus blocking sites that I went to.
Then I began having trouble logging into Windows XP Home as a regular user, and started receiving errors messages that "svchost.exe" had an exception and would not allow me to access my system as a normal user.
Now the only way to get on my computer is by using Safe Mode.
I have read through the introductory texts on have utilized the software that I can download on another computer and move to the infected computer by using a thumb drive.
I have run all kinds of things over the last few days, including the Malware AntiMalware software and combofix programs. They both found lots of stuff, but I still cannot login to Windows except in Safe Mode.
I've never had trouble removing viruses before, but I have exhausted the ways I know, so please help!
