Hi all,

I'm new here so sorry for not knowing much thus far.

I have just started (over the past 2-3 days) to get an error pop-up window spouting info about an imapi.exe file and a txt file (can't remember it's name off the top of my head - begins with 'a') located in my doc's and settings/local/temp folder on my C drive.

I'm not sure if it's a possible trojan or what?

I've run a vundo trojan fixer, but it didn't find anything. I also use AVG Anti-Virus Free and have run a scan, but nothing either - only a bunch of tracking cookies. And finally I have installed 'SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition' after reading a fair few Internet posts... but again that picked up nothing.

I guess someone will ask me to install and run HijackThis? But, I've no clue how to use it.

I really need some help please, and thank those of you in advance for it.

Best,

Ashley

Hello AshleySmith08 and Welcome to Geeks to Go!

Sorry for the delay, been quite busy this week. :)

Please Click here!, and follow the recommendations in the guide.

If you're still having trouble, We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool, Hijack This. Follow the instructions in step five of this guide, and reply here with your log.

Most of what Hijack This lists lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.
