soundcard driver install?

hi, as per microsoft update for winxp pro sp2, i have downloaded a driver update for soundblaster live! value... however it now sits on my desktop as a folder named "WU".... how do i install?

Try Software AutoUpdate, if your card supports this, it will install the updates

hi... i checked and they say no updates are necessary.
however, sound doesn't work! my speakers do work when a friend plugs them into her computer

Click start then control panel then sounds speech audio then sounds and audio, check for no tick in mute then click advanced and check for no ticks in wave, cd player, cd digital and auxillary, then close that box then click speaker volume to check then click advanced to check the correct speakersare selected, click apply if you had to change anything. Click audio to check the soundcard is the default playback device

hi, did all that as per the windows sound troubleshooter
everything seems checked and unmuted
still no sound

If you have the Soundcard software CD then go to add /remove and uninstall it, then get tune up trial, run disc clean up then registry clean up then reinstall from the soundcard CD
