I have a Dell laptop Inspiron 5100 with 256 memory.
It is runnimng slow and I have done everything to speed it up...tossed out all old programs no longer using.
I recently added Microsoft Office Home and it slowed down again quite a bit. I also need to install
Quicken which will slow it down even more

I think I need to add more memory...I believe it will handle up to 1 G.

I notice in my laptop I have one memory card and an empty spot next to it.
Do I add the additional memory to the vacant spot and leave the old card in?
Or, do I remove the old card and put a new in it's place.

In either event...how much memory should I purchase?/

Thanks,
Tim

http://crucial.com/s.....205100 Series is memory your laptop will like. It will see 1Gb made up of 2 x 512Mb so you'd have to take the 256Mb out to upgrade to 1Gb. System should be happy with 256Mb and the extra 512Mb anyway.
