The monitor suddenly goes off. If I remove the cable from CPU and touch here and there, there is little bit of spark indicating discharge and if I reconnect, It starts reworking. This problem is very frequent. Is there some problem in the monitor or cable or the CPU ?

yes.

it could be any of those 3 things...first try a new cable with the monitor, then try a new monitor (if you can get your hands on one just for testing....don't run out and buy one unless you were already planning to do so), then try the old monitor on a different computer
