Local Access Only - Cant Connect To Internet

Hi there... Im just about to throw my laptop through the window.

Basically, my laptop has suddenly stopped connecting to the internet. It will not connect. I've tried a number of things to get it to work, browse the internet on my other laptop for several hours trying to remedy this problem.

I get a local access only/Unidentified network when i try to connect wirelessly, or wired through ethernet. Running windows vista on a HP Pavilion TX 1000.

Please please help. I Know its not a router problem as im able to connect to the internet on my other laptop, which runs XP. And a friends laptop, which is also vista, also connects fine.

Any way to get this sorted?

Hello pleasehelpmenow and welcome to Geeks to Go.

Please navigate to: Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center. Can you please post back with the network information that you're given there and the network map shown there also?
