Friends PC...clean and XP Home all up to date, recent XP reinstall. Giga Byte GA 7VM400AM(F) Motherboard. (4 Years old?) Single 80G HDD.
Opens with 'Found new hardware'....RAID Controller!

I simply want to stop the message.

No sign of it in the BIOS.
Various registry entries which I haven't interfered with.

Your help Please :)

Hi

Most likely a change in the BIOS is required.

While it may not be specific as RAID it will be in the choice of Hard Drive Interface options

Gigabyte normally have a number of options and as you change the initial entry the remaining options underneath also change. I can't visualize exactly but I would change it and reboot one at a time.

FIRST RECORD THE SETTING THAT IS THERE BEFORE YOU START

If you get the wrong option and boot fails you can always go back to what it was set to

I have struck this before and it is fixable from the BIOS settings

Goog Luck

Baudy! :)

Baudy,
I guess the key to your answer is 'Hard Drive Interface Options'.

I'll have a look and try not to mess things up too badly!

Thankyou.
