Hi there,

I'm new here and I'm having a little trouble freeing up some space on my hard drive and was hoping someone could help me out. In order to make room i have run Disk Cleanup, moved data files to an external drive, removed programs, and deleted obsolete stuff. However, when I view the disk properties it still looks like there is the same amount of room as there was before I cleaned house. Is there something I'm missing? Some kind of memory dump or something? What gives?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
J

Yes, I rebooted. I can't defrag as there is not enough free space. I also ran chkdsk. After reading through some other posts, I found a reccomendation to download and run Spacemonger. So I did that and it turns out that WoW and my Adobe Creative Suite take up a lot more room than I was thinking. So between those two software bundles and my Windows XP there just isn't enough space left on my 40G drive!

Soooo, long story short, I ordered my new 500G SATA drive this morning. That oughta hold me over for awhile. :)

Thanks!

Stay tuned for my "Trouble installing Hard Drive" post... :)
