Ok, so I power up my rig today and it boots as it should, get to the user screen enter my pw and it starts to boot to the desktop. THen all of the sudden the screen goes black and its totally locked up (caps lock, numlock, scroll lock wont turn off or on). Now I am wondering if this is a virus and I should just re-install or a hardware issue? I have noticed that when my comp is not on that there is a super high pitch noise coming from the PSU, but its been doing this for about a month. BUt it has been working just fine.
Last night I did move some parts around to help with airflow inside as my top video card was running 12*C hotter than the bottom one. BUt I used the machine last night for several hours after that with no problems.
Any ideas?
-P.
