I have windows xp sp2 and i did a few updates because i never did those kinds of things.
I upgraded my bios and after i did that, it made me reset my computer and after that, none of my 8 usb ports works.
I tried to play around with all the settings when windows starts by pressing f12 but none of those worked. I know that my usb ports to some degree because of the fact that when i plug my ipod in, it works until the whole windows boots up fully and im at my desktop, then it just stops working. Once i get there, none of my usb ports, my mouse, my keyboard nada. Some people told me to try to reinstall my bios but how could i do that if i cant use my mouse and keyboard? Help please (:

have you tried looking at your device manager? Go to start->right click on my computer->go to properties->go to the hardware tab->click on device manager. If you see an yellow exclamation marks that means the drivers are missing, go to action and then click on scan for hardware changes, if your computer finds the necessary drivers it will install them and all is well, you can also click on 1 thing and click on action->update driver to see if you can update it, hope this helps.

thanks for replying flash. i would try but i cant get to it because my keyboard uses usb and not the other kind so i cannot access the device manager. if i could, then i think i could solve this but both the mouse and keyboard do not work. the only thing i can do is access the f12 button to go into the blue page settings thing.
