hi, im using vista for my operating system but when windows does an update when i re boot the load up screen is saying windows xp! i don't know anything about pc so could someone tell me if this is normal, if it's not would anyone be able to tell me what i can do to stop it. also i have a constant update balloon when i log on to my pc that says updates are ready for my computor but when i try to install them it comes up with windows xp service pack 3! should i install this? many thanks

Ok, this will sound like a stupid question but it's one I'm pretty sure everyone will be thinking....

Are you sure you not running Windows XP?

I'm asking this simply because it is impossible for Vista to do this as Vista is its own OS and is not linked to XP at all.
