Office 2003 applications won't open. I click to open Internet Explorer, Outlook, Excel, Access, Powerpoint and even Notepad and it tries to open, but then minimizes and places a button on the bottom tool bar. All I can do with the button is right click and close. I can open WORD, but not the others. There must be some setting that minimizes these applications and I can't find it. I need Help! Thanks, BE :)

Even though it's possible to configure an application to "start minimised", you should still be able to open it normally in a window by clicking it on the taskbar, so there may be another reason for it behaving like that.

However, it would do no harm to check the setting just in case I'm wrong.

1. Right-click the shortcut for the application which is affected, and choose 'Properties'

2. Under the 'Shortcut' tab it should read "Normal Window" in the 'Run' options bar.
