Each time I open (attempt) Word 2003, I can only do so in SafeMode.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

One of the add-ins or extensions in your Word application may be corrupt or incompatible with Word 2003.

Or Word's default template "normal.dot" may be corrupt. You can rename it to "normal.old" with Word closed,
then re-open Word and a new "normal.dot" file will automatically be created.

Thanks Phillip,

I was unable to find the normal.dot file. I looked in what I thought to be all the word files and even did a search.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

The normal.dot file should be under:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Application Data\Microsoft\Office\Recent

At least, that's where mine is. :)
