Second time user of this site.

Last night, I decided to restart my pc, all of a sudden, the BSOD 0x024 popped up.

I've had this in April before, I forgot how I got my RC to work though...

Because now when I press 'R' on the 'Welcome to Setup' screen, A message on the bottom of the screen comes up and says

'Examining 38147 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi...'

Geez... I have no idea what to do now :)

Also, I downloaded ISO Recorder for Vista and the RC on vista but im using it for Windows XP home edition. SP2

Hi there,

Bug Check 0x24: NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM
The NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM bug check has a value of 0x00000024. This indicates a problem occurred in ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS drives.

You are almost there with your RC, press R to Repair and enter recovery console. Once the DOS screen bootup,
Type chkdsk/r to enable your system to scan and repair the bad sector discovered if any.

Thanks

How about trying another CD?
Is it possible for you to try it with another installation CD?

When you downloaded the recovery console, did you burn the ISO to disc?
Please read this article by Troy to learn how to make a recovery console disc.

'Examining 38147 MB Disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi...'

This is checkdisc running, let it run!
While you are waiting please read Some of these articles.

Has any thing on the screen changed?
If not reboot and look for a "To stop check disc from...Press any key"
Press a key, and run check disc from the RC.

DO NOT REFORMAT THIS DRIVE.
I fear that the drive may be bad, but you may still be able to pull the data off if it is not a total fail.
You are most likely going to have to replace the drive, good news is that you have the recovery disc.
Do you know how to hook a secondary drive up to pull the data off of it?
Oh please do not bump your own post, or start a new post for the same issue.
I know that you want your computer fixed, and we want to help you fix it.
We have other people who we are helping, other forums, and some times lives.
