I'm having all sorts of difficulties over here. I recently started getting popups from popup.adv.net and goole... have internet searches redirected to search @ hand, and also have been unable to use windows update. I saw a few postings with similar symptoms, but was unable to come across a fix that worked for me...
Ran a handful of malware / spyware removal tools, but they're coming back clean, now...
