Error 1058 + continuous popups + Win32

I tried to manually turn on the Automatic Updates when the error 1058: The service cannot be started, either because it is desabled or because it has no enabled devised associated with it. I am also receiving alot of pop ups and my computers speed has dropped. I use Shaw Secure at the moment. Anybody have any ideas how to fix this? I'm pretty sure they are related to each other. Oh also I have been receiving alot of spyware/riskware/virus blocks with Win32 and win32.mywebsearch. Mainly I have Quarantined them.
