I use university-provided SpySweeper and Symantec on home machine. They always report no spyware, etc but the machine was slowing down. So I bought/installed AdAwarePro. It found and removed 13 items. SpybotS&D found and removed more. But "Ask" toolbar somehow got installed on IE. And IE won't take me to Microsoft.com.

And sometimes, when shutting down, Windows would warn: another user is logged on. Running "New Users" at the command prompt returned this:

Administrator Craig Guest
HelpAssistant SUPPORT_388945a0

I am "Craig." Why am I logged on as a "guest"? And the "HelpAssistant?" I ran HijackThis, was surprised to see so many HBOs and other things. I tried to attach the HiJackThis report but got this message: "Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload this type of file." I don't know why it failed. Thank you for any help you can give me.
