Computer crashes after startup

My system seems to need a 'system disk check' before it can get past the desktop array.....crashes on loading of tray symbols otherwise. Seems nonsense?!!
Attached is the Hijackthis log.....anyone got any ideas? (Apart from bin the computer and start again)
