I don't know if I'm at the right forum. I was installing some application and have to restart the computer. When it gets booted, it says "The file OLEAT32.dll file can't start. Check the file to determine the problem" I can't get access to the files at all. And when I tried uninstall the program, it won't let me. I need help to reverse the problem before my computer gets hurt.

Since your running windows 98, I would suggest going here: http://www.macros.com/oleaut.htm and installing the vb6 runtime files.

I ended up finding the problem on my own. The .DLL is actually old and corrupted. I would blame the programmer for doing this but I put the newer file into the System folder and it is fixed.

Problem solved. Geeks to go.
