CD/DVD Drive Not Working

My CD/DVD drive has stopped working and it used to work before, like about a week ago or so it worked. Can someone help me with this?

Reset the data and power cable connections in the computer. If the drive does not start to spin up when you insert a CD in it then i would think about a replacement drive. In XP and Vista Autorun should start the CD even if windows cant read it. If the drive does start, beyond a bad data cable connection, usually the reading eye in the drive had died or has so much dirt in the eye it can't read anything.
