since i got this fake update window package 3 my computer been acting up

this is what i,m getting

window installer : the windows installer service could not be accessed
this can occur if you are running window in safe mode(not)
or if the window installer is not correctly installed




next thing every time i try to open my browser i get this C:\documents and settings\all users\destop\mozilla firefox.ink is not a valid win32 application

can someone help with this

Go to Start=>Run and type "Services.msc" without the quotes. This will show you what services are running. Scroll down and see if the Windows Installer Service is running. If it's not, try and start it. If it is...well, report back here either way.
