First off, let me thank you in advance for any help with this problem. I have been fighting this for about three months now and have gotten nowhere. While online the data transfer will just stall for about 5-30 seconds, then it will start up again on its own. If I'm playing an online game the ping will go to 999 and stay there for up to a minute. I do have dial up so I dont expect much from the online games, although I was able to play them pretty well before this happened. I have followed all the outlined steps and here is the hjt log,

Hi tech174,

Does this happen at regular intervals or preset times?

One thing I'd like to have a look at:>>

Download the RKFiles.zip from here:
http://skads.org/special/rkfiles.zip
1. Reboot into safe mode
2. Open the C:\Antispyware\RKFiles folder
* Locate and double-click the RKFILES.BAT to run this tool.
* Sit back and wait untill its finished.
* When it is finally finished a text file will open.
* Save the contents of that text file.
Note: It should save by default to C:\Log.txt
3. Reboot back to Normal Mode.
4. Post the log

Thanks for the help..... to answer your question the data stream will "pause" for a few seconds about every 2 minutes. It will also sometimes " stall " for up to 30 seconds . I have a USRobotics modem ( hooked to a pci serial card ) and when the data pauses , the received data light stays off , the send data light flashes about every 5 seconds, the clear to send light stays on. Now when the data stalls, the received data light stays off, the send data light flashes in sync with the clear to send light. Here is the log you asked for. Again thank you for the help :tazz:

Step 1.

Surf to http://virusscan.jotti.org/ and upload this file:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\csmrs.exe
Let me know the results.

Step 2.
Download and unzip to one folder:
http://metallica.gee...com/findlop.zip

Inside the folder find findlop.bat

Doubleclick it and it will create the file C:\findlop.txt
Find that file and copy the content into your next post.

Good job. :tazz:

Download the Hoster from HERE Press "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK". Exit Program.

Delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\csmrs.exe

Then update AVG and do a full system scan.

Thank you for all your help. My connection is much better. Still have the issue with the " clear to send " light blinking off but that is a question about OS or maybe hardware. Thanks again

I think so too.
Can you post a final log to check if everything went as planned?

Please do have a look at my site about removing and preventing spyware.
