Outlook Express question: how do I save an image (picture) that's embedded in an email?

I found a reference in ABOUT.com but it doesn't work (for me). Following the instructions there, I right clicked on the image .... chose Save Picture As from the drop-down but got as error dialog which said: "System cannot find the file specified". A dead end.

Suggestion?

The message "...cannot find the file..." pops up because Outlook doesn't actually store the image but only links to the image, which might be stored elsewhere.

Outlook Express blocks images as a privacy measure. If you open an email in Outlook Express and it downloads the images referenced in the message automatically, not only do you get to see the nicely laid out email but the sender can see whether, when and possibly even where you opened the message. Which is not good.

But if you want you can override that by going to TOOLS > OPTIONS > SECURITY > BLOCK IMAGES AND EXTERNAL CONTENT and uncheck the option.

Understand - my OE is set up that way now.

Did more testing after posting topic ... was using an email(wioth a picture) sent from Yahoo. If I was logged into Yahoo, I could 'Save Image As ...' to save the email image. Taking this into account and the reply from Broni - the only way to safely save an embedded image is to have access to the server on which the original image resides.

Thanks
