when i try to open my regedit it saysthat the administrator desactived the modification of the register. its on my own pc, can someone tell me how to remove this restriction? kthx

sounds like a change was made to the Group Policy on your computer. I looked all over the GPO settings on my W2K MMC console but couldn't find any options controlling the Registry. maybe XP is different. to access the MMC console type mmc in the run box.
