Hello,

I recently lost ownership of all the files on my computer, and it kept restarting itself. I was able to get it to boot up, only after going through system recovery, but still no ownership. My dads friend was able to get control back of some of the files for me, but i am afraid not all. I still get the access denied you dont have ownership error..

Yesterday I restarted my computer and it couldn't boot because <windows root>system\hal.dll was missing or corrupt. My comp did not come with the xp cd. I made the recovery discs a long time ago, but I don't know if they are useful at this time anymore.,..

All i know is when all this occured, it happend right after I had downloaded and used mcsft visual c# express edition for school work....

any help would be wonderfully greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,

zana
