Download the driver here

http://h10025.www1.h...r...228&lang=en

Uninstall the driver in your Device Manager, reboot and it will prob reinstall itself. If it doesn't then run the driver you downloaded.

You are using the NIC to connect to your router and not USB yes?

Look at the back of your computer, do you see any light activity right where your NIC cable is plugged into your computer?

If so, open a command prompt and type in the following
ipconfig /release
then type
ipconfig /renew
then type
ipconfig /all

whoa, there is a light

i did the release, and it said local area connection 2 has already been released

when i did the renew, it said that an error occurred while renewing inteface Local Area Connection 2:unable to conect your DHCP server. Request has timed out

i then did /all, and i got the same results as before

also, i noticed that my Comodo Internet Security reports to me that i have 3 "network zones"

they all have different "IP in"

Loopback Zone
IP In [127.0.0.1 / 255.0.0.0]

Spacemanspiff92's Network
IP In [192.168.1.64 / 255.255.255.0]

Spacemanspiff92's Networkk
IP In [169.254.218.126 / 255.255.0.0]

the last 2 i named myself, the program discovered them within the course of the last 2 weeks, and asked me to name them. i don't know what it means

Can you uninstall comodo and reinstall it after we are done? I should have asked before if you had any internet security running. If it's a pay for program just make sure you have your serial or activation code to use when you reinstall it.

Ya it's not your router, it's something on your computer stopping you.

EDIT: just making sure you saw my post about uninstalling Comodo
