i upgraded my HD last week and i have everything working except sys restore and COD UO.
i used WD data lifeguard to do the migration.
sys restore wont even open, i just get an error report
also my coduo game will shut down and restart the pc without any error report. i swaped processors and vid cards and it still does it after 10min of gaming.
any ideas??

NO NUMBERS WERE GIVEN JUST A DIALOG BOX SAYING SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE

Go to C:\WINDOWS\INF\sr.inf and right click it. Select "Install"
sr.inf is a hidden file, so make sure you tick "Show hidden files and folders" in Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View

thanks Broni that did it. it amazing how little i know about pc's . i am glad to have all you computer guys around to bail me out . now if i can only fix my COD.

do you want to have a go at my other problem?
this pc will reboot itself without any error message upon reboot, you know like the serious error thing.

i thought it was my COD game doing it but now im not sure. it takes about 10-20 minutes to reboot itself.
note: i swapped processors vid cards and it doesnt seem hot, i have the cover off it.

is there a dump report i can access to post?

Are you doing anything in particular, when computer reboots?

no not really now it will just reboot every 20 -30 minutes. i just tried swapping some memory and it still does it.

no you fixed that for me, sys restore works great.
it just reboots for no good reason

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

2. Click the Advanced tab (Vista: click Advanced system settings).

3. Under Startup and Recovery, click Settings to open the Startup and Recovery dialog box.

4. Clear the Automatically restart check box, and click OK the necessary number of times.

5. Restart your computer for the settings to take effect.

Maybe, you'll see some error message.
If, after applying the above, computer still restarts without any message, then we'll be looking for some hardware problems.
