On a Sunday, while my computer was sitting idle, it decided not to recognize the wireless connection anymore. Selecting the "Connect to a Network" option from the Windows taskbar does not do anything at this point; literally, nothing happens.

I thought I would go to my Device Manager to see if a driver was corrupted, but the Device Manager will not open up. I get the following error message:

MMC could not create the snap-in. The snap-in might not have installed correctly.

Name: Device Managers

CLSID: {74246BFC-4C96-11D0-ABEF-0020AF6B0B7A}

Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?

Hello,
Try this;

Login as Administrator (or equivalent). Click Start, Run and type this command:

regsvr32 devmgr.dll

If you see an Action Cancelled error while opening Device Manager, see here for the resolution.

Resolution
This is caused due to missing CTreeView Control - {CD6C7868-5864-11D0-ABF0-0020AF6B0B7A} registration information is missing.

To fix the problem, type this command in Start, Run dialog:

regsvr32 dmocx.dll

If the dmocx.dll file is missing, extract a copy from Windows XP CD-ROM or the ServicePackFiles folder.
