wanting to avoid format reinstall if at all possible.
I believe malware/virus free. MBAM plus AV scans, as well as a general perusal of the hjt log. IE will open to the default page, but additional pages will not load. I can click on links within the default page and that page will respond. Cannot change address in browswer. Any additonal pages loads are blank.

Did a Windows XP restore from install disk
Did sfc /scannow, using same files from install disk
chkdsk /f
IE7 folder is present in windows. system reports SP2 from the restore. Cannot go to any other page except the default page. (foxnews.com)
Can't seem to uninstall SP3, not available in add/remove. can't seem to install IE7 to see if overinstalling will correct issues. Suggestions? I think have some corrupt reg values. But can't override or overwrite them at this point.
