I rebuilt my hard drive (WindowsXP with no problems - just a queston. I have a HP laptop with 4 USB ports. One has my wireless mouse. I plugged My BOOK external hard drive into one port previously that was named H:, a flashdrive in another that was called G: . After the reinstall, MY BOOK is called F: Any chance of renaming it to H: ? All my downloaded files are listed that way in my programs and I thought it might be easier to change the designation than going through all files.

Hello bigdogalex,

Start > Run, type diskmgmt.msc and click OK
Once disk management starts, find the drive you want to change the letter for.
Right-click the drive, choose Change Drive Letters and Paths... from the context menu
Click Change and choose the letter you want to assign to the drive.
