Problems on Installing Win XP Pro SP2 on Eeepc

I have an ASUS Eeepc with 4 gig hd and Win XP pro....one day I couldnt load it even in safe mode so I install a brand new OS Win XP pro SP2 but its stuck on examining the disk after pressing ENTER on choosing "to install windows XP now press ENTER" and wouldn't continue....I've already used 2 OS but still the same...please help!!!!

Do I need to format the disk? How do I do that?

The main problem with installing XP on one of these devices is the fact that the hard drive is what's called solid-state and XP writes to the drive pretty much constantly.
Solid state drives only have a limited life-span of a few thousand writes so it's entirely possible the solid-state drive is worn out. If that is the case then it is replaceable if you are handy with a soldering iron and have patience by the bucketloads. If not, well it may not be a cheap repair.
