Dr Watson Debugger/explorer problem

I hope this is the right place to post this query. I'm actually at work at the moment so will post a HiJack log later on when I'm back on my machine.

The problem is as follows: When I right-click on my main © drive or try to open the 'file' menu in My Computer, the machine freezes, I get an 'explorer encountered a problem and must close' message followed by a 'Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger has encountered a problem and must close' one, then the only thing I can do is shut down using Task Manager.

Something else, which might be connected, is that I can't access the Disk Defragmenter - when I do (via the start/programs/accessories/system tools route, because as I've said above the other ways don't work), it takes a minute or so to open, then stops responding.

I've followed all the steps - adaware, CWS, spybot etc - and it's still not working.

Can someone help? Looks like it's a fairly common problem, so I do hope so. I'll check soon and if anyone's interested in helping I'll post a Hijack log.

OK, I've done a HijackThis. the log's posted below.

One more thing I should maybe mention is the whole machine is running significantly slower than it used to, and than I believe it should (it's a fairly new, pretty fast machine). It also takes about 2-3min to boot up, when it used to take about 15 secs.
