Hello

Im not sure if this is the right forum to ask this. But i am working on some Uni stuff and I want to put some pictures in my step by step guide on re-imaging a computer. I need explain the steps from the software i use at this job i am at. So to re-image a computer we use a bootable software called novell ZENworks reimaging engine. It boots up directly from the CD. So windows doesnt start of course. I want to take some screen shots of myself going through the re-image procedures. But i dont know how to take screenshots or where they get saved to when im using this program. I only know how to do it when im in windows.

Does anyone know?

thanks in advance

It's called a Digital camera. Not joking here... unless an OS is running, there is no program I know of that can be executed for capturing screen images... much less let you save it somewhere.

You might try contacting Novell to see it they have a tutorial with photos and use those images.

I tried a digital camera and the pic come out blurry and poor. I think i found out a way. At the place i work at, they have MACs, and they run dual Operating systems. You can run windows xp on top of mac using Boot Camp. I will try running mac and windows through boot camp and run the bootable cd that way. Hopefully it will boot up the program i want and ill take a mac screenshot from there!

Well, don't know if even that will work, but good luck! Please write back with your results as it may help someone else in the future.

Thanks,

Found an easier way to do it. Installed a program called parallels workstation. It lets you start another operating system while running your base one. So I ran that program and run the boot cd with that. The program runs in a window. There is also a screenshot option built in the program that just takes a screenshot of the window. so you dont have to worry about cropping etc
