Search Engine Redirection To Other Websites....(Help Needed)

Hello Geeks To Go Members:

I am here because my computer has been infected with some sort of virus and it is causing me to be redirected from other sites, slowly downloading files & not being able to aquire a secure connection. It's a pain and It has happened before, but it was about 2 years ago and I've subsequently forgotten. I remember that I needed to install Hijackthis before, but that is all I know.

What happens is when I search regularly into Google, the results show in a different font, as If they were zoomed in. Everytime I look, I find that there is no change to the zoom level. Also, when I try to use System Restore, there's no way to go back to a previous restore point, as the computer won't allow me to go past the 'next' button.

And even when I try to go on a site, the page redirects me to go.google.com..... then changes to some other site. A couple of times, It redirected me to a viewing of Karate Kid. (Yeah, like that movie is going to really help me.... :) ). This is an annoyance that I would like to get eliminated.

I am afraid to log into my email or my online banking because that could be an open door for Identity theft, so I really need someone's wisdom on this topic.

I've followed the instructions for pre-posting of Hijack This logs, and oddly enough Malwarebytes and any other Anti-Malware program that I had installed onto my computer (Spybot & TrojanMaster....) refused to open. I mean, the process was on in Windows Task Manager, but there was no program.
