I just removed smitfraud.c from my computer, but was left with a bluescreen error notification and a non-functional Internet Explorer. Although this fix will not work for everyone, I simply restored my computer (running XP) to a time before contracting the trojan. Everything came back fine.

Hope this helps.

P.S. Thanks for the advice Merry!!

do you use limewire to download stuff?

that might be your problem.
sometimes when your downloading a song or whatever it will lock up for 2 seconds and then give you a blue screen. if you do use limewire, reinstall it and get all available updates.

hope it works!
lemme know.
