Well I've had this laptop for a little over a year now. Now it seems to freeze at different times, no matter what I am doing.
Also restarts randomly without a reason or error.
This all started about a week ago and haven't installed or updated anything that I know of since. I am not sure what the problem might be...
I have restored the computer twice now because of unable to boot. I am just lucky this time to be able to come online to ask for help.
I am just hoping that someone will know what the problem could be. I also don't know where the error logs are kept so someone has to help me find those so that you can help me with the problem I have at the moment.
Thanks for anyone that is patient enough to help...

Start with testing your RAM: http://www.techspot....topic62524.html, and your hard drive: http://www.tacktech....ay.cfm?ttid=287

Well now the laptop won't even start up at all...just a black screen when I turn it on.
Nothing much more I can do, except bring it in to see whats wrong...
Altho I believe that it may be the hard drive because it sounded like it was working harder than normal.

Very possible. That's why, I asked you to run HD diagnostic.
You still can do this (instead of paying the shop). Diagnostic program will create bootable CD, so it's relevant, if your HD is dead, or not.
If HD is dead, you can easy replace it by yourself.

ok I'll try, altho one question...
Which program do I download?
But when I find out the hard drive manufacture I just download the bootable iso and then burn that to a disc and put it in the laptop?
Thanks for the help by the way :)

Yes, this is one of the options.
Depending on drive manufacturer, but they usually have diagnostic tools for DOS, Windows, bootable from a floppy, or CD.

Have you tried taking the RAM out, and then putting it back in? (called reseating)
If the RAM is not seated correctly then you will not get any display at all.
If it is not the RAM, then you should at least get a bios screen. (unless it is the motherboard, or processor which is not likely).
Laptops get moved around a lot and even just sitting it down could cause the RAM to become unseated.

Well now I am on the laptop again, it just sometimes decides to let me on at different times.
So I don't think its the hard drive if it still starts(some of the time).
So what else can it be?

Well it hasn't restarted/freeze since I been on. The things I have done differently is I haven't used msn, usb mouse, ethernet cable, or any programs.
The only thing I am using is firefox.

You must start eliminating possible reasons. Test the drive, test RAM.
