I think i have virus

I am pretty sure i have a virus on my computer because i keep getting a pop-up box telling me my computer maybe infected and then it takes me to a place to buy malware software, when i type in AVG.com it takes me to ask.com which i cannot access any type of free virus protection downloads my question is how do i do a system recovery without the disks? I have a toshiba satellite a105-s2031..please help me! Thanks
