On my Windows XP machine, when doing a normal bootup, it stays on the bootup screen with the loading bar just going on and on. When I boot into safemode, it boots into ADMIN but when trying to go into my user login it haults on "loading users personal settings"...

I haven't done anything recently as far as downloads that could have caused the problem.

I did do a few uninstalls of some secondary software.

What steps should I take to solve this problem?

Thank you!

You say you can get into safe mode. Maybe try this.

How to start your computer by using the Last Known Good Configuration feature

To start your computer by using the Last Known Good Configuration feature, follow these steps:
Start your computer.
When you see the "Please select the operating system to start" message, press the F8 key.
When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked), and then press ENTER.
If you are running other operating systems on your computer, use the ARROW keys to select Microsoft Windows XP, and then press ENTER.

Tried, and this is the same as "normal bootup". It just stauls.

Also, I created a new user account in safe mode, and I can access it IN SAFE MODE, no problem.

So, I can't access my normal user account in safe mode - and cannot get past the main bootup screen in normal bootup.

Thanks for the help - anyone have further ways to figure this one out?

I appreciate it!
