I get an error message (80244019) when I try to update with Windows Update, internet says this is a DNS issue but their remedies don;t seem to work.

Anything you can reccomend? I tried flushing the DNS with Command Prompt but no luck.
Also tried WIndows Defender and Spybot to see if it's a virus. Nothing doing.

It's most likely a DNS changer trojan. Please start with our malware cleaning guide. If that doesn't fix it, please start a new topic in the malware removal forum. MalwareBytes Antimalware is usually good at clearing these infections.
