My World of Warcraft account was hacked the other night. I have never shared my account info with anyone, so I am still perplexed as to how the hacker got my user name and password. In my web research it is suggested that a keylogger may be to blame.

My Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 not only was already up to date, but I have it do updates automatically. I have used Zonealarm Pro and Avast Antivirus Professional for awhile now. I did a full scan with Avast, and my system turned up clean. Zonealarm runs a spyware scan once per week, and it always removes some minor advertising-related cookies and such that it rates as low threat. I use Firefox 3 as my browser. Before I came to this site I downloaded and ran Lavasoft's Ad-aware. It found 129 Internet Explorer cookies and 3 other items. Interesting considering that I avoid Internet Explorer when I can.

I should note that a contractor from my cable company was here on Wednesday morning to switch me over to their new cable phone service. He used Internet Explorer while here, to set up and swap out my cable modem and get everything switched over. Other than that I am the only user of my computer.

After finding this site I went through the introductory steps you have posted on your site. I ran the Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware program which I assumed would be like Ad-aware. But this program found some stuff that Ad-aware had missed. In addition I did an online virus scan from Kaspersky. It hit a few false positives such as mIRC.exe, the IRC program I haven't used in over a month.

I then downloaded and ran Hijack This. The log is pasted below:
