Ok, i was really desperate to have windows xp instead of vista.

So i got out my windows xp disk, put it in and booted it up. it went fine, then my laptop restarted as it should.

Then i get something like
BOOT.INI
Error
C:\windows\

or something that looks like that.

Is there anyway i can fix this without having to buy anything?

Yhe most common error is that XP does not have the drivers for your SATA hard drive.
Please tell me that you have a set of recovery disc for the computer?
Is this a full version of XP or a disc that came with another computer (recovery disc).?
If it is not a full version it will not work on a different computer than the one it came with.
You can order a set of recovery disc from the company that makes your computer, just go to their website and look for information on buying the recovery disc (probaly cost you about $30.00
