Most likely your Identity has developed corruption.
Try creating a New Identity in OE.
File>Identities>Add new Identity.
Name it something different from the original so you can tell easily which Identity is which.
Switch to the new Identity.
Set up your account using the Internet Account Wizard.
If your password is remembered in the New Identity and everything works properly (sending and receiving), then you can Import your Address Book and Mail from the Old Identity.
