So.. I got into spywaretrouble today!
Azesearch was my main problem. I've searched the forums for advice, and I've already tried my very best to remove it all.... but I think I'm still infected with a few things.
I already ran Spybot S&D, Adaware and Webroot Spy Sweeper, as well as my Norton Antivirus numerous times.

Hello! Sorry for the delay in the response. Thanks for using the "I sitll havent gotten help" feature in the Malware Forum.

Your log does not look too bad, lets clean up the few things that are left!

Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {0d2def3a-f4f1-42ec-ac4f-132e7ba6e292} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: ZToolbar Activator Class - {da7ff3f8-08be-4cac-bc00-94d91c6ae7f4} - (no file)

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked. Reboot into safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove Programs (if present) in the Control Panel:

Qxjgf.exe

Please note any other programs that you dont recognize in that list in your next response

Please delete these folders (if present) using Windows Explorer:

C:\Program Files\Iftlpm

After that, Reboot.

Next, post a new HiJackThis log for me to look at.

Also list any problems you still notice with your computer.

Thanks so much for the reply! I'm glad to know it doesn't look to bad ;)
I should let you know I've also just installed and ran Microsoft AntiSpyware.
I did all the things you said. (oh, there wasn't a program installed called Qxjgf.exe, nor anything else I didn't recognize) I did delete the folder which held that file.

I've tried not to use my computer too much, since I wanted to get it clean first. So maybe I just haven't noticed, but I think there are no substantial problems left anymore.

Everything is looking fairly good, just a few more things to fix. One of the infections came back so we will fix it again, and if it comes back we will treat it a bit more aggressively :tazz:

I couldn't find the folder (C:\Program Files\Iftlpm), it wasn't there in Safe mode, I ran a search as well.

I tested all those links (google.com, go.com etc.) and yeah, they simply take me to the site. No redirecting as far as I can tell

No, everything is working fine again, and there are no more annoying popups, toolbars or redirections.

Thanks for helping me get rid of the last few items! And for your accurate responses :) It's been very helpful ;) Am v. glad to have found this forum!

It was a useful experience for me, too ;) I hope it won't happen again.. I'm certainly gonna try very much to prevent it !

The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.
  • Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.
  • AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.
  • SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep nasties from installing on your system.
  • SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.
  • IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
  • CleanUP! - Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.
  • Windows Updates - It is very important to make sure that both Internet Explorer and Windows are kept current with the latest critical security patches from Microsoft. To do this just start Internet Explorer and select Tools > Windows Update, and follow the online instructions from there.
  • Google Toolbar - Free google toolbar that allows you to use the powerful Google search engine from the bar, but also blocks pop up windows.
  • Trillian or Miranda-IM - These are Malware free Instant Messenger programs which allow you to connect to multiple IM services in one program! (AOL, Yahoo, ICQ, IRC, MSN)
