Is HDMI on a mobo only good for montior/tvs that use HDMI...or can it be used for other future stuff?

Or am I missing the point of it being a gimmick?

The hdmi mobos have the integrated graphics. HDMI is the future display standard for TVs and possibly monitors as well, plain and simple. It combines the full 8.1 channel digita audio AND video in one cable. The HDMI mobos are good for media center pcs or monitors that use hdmi.
