It takes a full min. between hitting the shutdown button and having the shutdown dialog box appear. I have auto update, so I don't know if it updated or when. I restored 2 days back, no change. Thanks
Something else! After boot I bring up Firefox and IE8, read my mail, etc. shutdown no problem. When I leave the computer on without touching it for 15-20 min. then the shutdown problem. When waiting for the shutdown dialog box the mouse pointer moves but can't select anything. Also after the shutdown dialog box comes up and I hit shutdown, when the shutting down windows box comes up it hangs there for a long time.

I don't understand how I got behind, I've been on auto download since I got the puter 2.5 years ago. Maybe I should check for updates once in awhile. Thanks
