XP pro, blank screen after restart

I have XP professional .... I am having a big issue right now ... when I am restarting my computer, I can see the computer is on ... but all I see is cursor and black background ...nothing else .... I switched off the and restarted the computer but nothing happened .... Then I rebooted the comp in safe mode but still I don't see anything .... I dunno what to do ....

Yesterday I did the anti matware scan and deleted all the detected threats ... I am worried that did I delete any important file of the system ...please help me ...
