Hello,
I had Norton installed on my PC when I bought it, but that expired and I waited too long to put something else on. Starting in the past few days, when I open IE, two windows open simultaneously (both Google, my home page.) Yesterday, I noticed one of those fake virus removers trying to scan my computer-- I had to use the task manager to stop it, and sorry- I don't remember what it was called. I decided it was time to load an anti-virus program, but when I went to comcast.net to try to load their free McAfee, it won't finish installing- it only gets 34% of the way finished, then gets stuck. I called them for support, and they told me it's a small file and should load in like 3 seconds, so something is wrong-- infection. So, I tried to load spybot, hijack this, etc. yesterday, and either I'd get redirected to some fake search results, or the files wouldn't load. I have run spybot, adaware, MS's malware detection, ewido, etc, etc., but none of them find anything. The MS people are supposed to be getting back to me, but I'm frustrated because I can't even get the McAfee to work and don't want to leave my computer in this unprotected state. Too bad I didn't think of this a month ago! Finally, today I got hijack this to work, and the log is posted below. Thanks so much for any help you can give me!!
